The Ashanti Region Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bernard Antwi Boasiako (Chairman Wontumi), has resumed campaigning for Dr Mahamudu Bawumia after his release on Friday, October 10.
In a video recording of him, he said, “Dr Bawumia is Number 3 on the ballot, delegates, we are pleading with you, for our future, and the 3 is the lucky number.”
While Dr Bawumia is Number 1 on the ballot paper, Kennedy Agyapong secured the Number 1 spot after the NPP conducted balloting for positions on Friday, October 10.

The exercise, held on the same day, saw the former Assin Central Member of Parliament draw the first spot.

The NPP will be holding its flagbearer elections on 31st January 2026 as part of its preparations for the 2028 general elections.
The flagbearer aspirants have already started touring the entire country, meeting delegates to campaign.
