All 13 suspects arrested in connection with a disturbance between police and residents of Tamale at the Tamale District Court have been granted bail.
The suspects were released in the late hours of Tuesday, August 29 after a crunch meeting between traditional authorities, the Northern Regional Security Council (REGSEC) and the police administration.
A team of police officers from the police headquarters was dispatched to Tamale by the Inspector General of Police (IGP) on Tuesday in respect of the incident.
Six persons sustained various degrees of gunshot wounds following the incident on Monday, August 28.
The youth besieged the premises of the court to demand the prosecution of one Karim Osman, who is alleged to be a drug lord.
The 13 protesters were arrested by the police and hundreds of motorbikes belonging to them were also seized.
