The Bono Region Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Kwame Baffoe (Abronye DC), has indicated his readiness to face the NPP disciplinary committee after the General Secretary, Justin Kodua Frimpong, petitioned the committee regarding his conduct.
He demanded a live telecast of the proceedings.
In a statement, he said, “My attention has been drawn to a social media communiqué issued by our great Party and duly signed by the General Secretary, Lawyer Justin Frimpong Kodua, inviting me to appear before the Party’s National Disciplinary Committee.
“I hereby write to indicate my full preparedness and willingness to appear before the Committee to comprehensively lay bare and substantiate the antichrist actions and inactions of Hon. Kennedy Agyapong, which has undermined the cohesion and integrity of our Party.
“Since the referral was made public, I therefore propose that the sittings of the Committee be conducted openly and broadcast live, so that the rank and file of our noble Party may have the opportunity to witness, at first hand, the manifest antichrist posture and conduct of Hon. Kennedy Agyapong.”
The statement by the party’s General Secretary on September 30, 2025, had stated that the petition “outlines a series of actions by Mr. Baffoe that are deemed not only unbecoming of a member of the party but also gravely detrimental to the image, unity, and integrity of the organisation.”
In the petition, Kodua Frimpong refers to a series of conduct by Abronye which constituted “defamation” of a senior member.
“Mr. Baffoe is reported to have publicly insulted Hon. Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, a distinguished member of the party with derogatory statements, including a claim that ‘even the elephant has more wisdom than Hon. Agyapong.’”
According to Kodua Frimpong, such remarks are “unprintable, defamatory and damaging to the reputation of Hon. Agyapong and the party at large.”
In another instance, the party’s General Secretary cites an issue of “baseless” allegations against him by Abronye.
The allegations are that Abronye claimed the General Secretary “deliberately concealed a report that purportedly implicated Kennedy Agyapong as the destroyer of the party and recommended his expulsion.”
Kodua Frimpong asserts that the allegation by Abronye is “false, malicious and injurious to the integrity of the Office of the General Secretary.”
The party’s General Secretary cites a third instance of a purported disclosure and misrepresentation of a content of a disciplinary committee report by Abronye.
He argued that Abronye’s conduct constitutes a “serious breach of confidentiality, discretion, decorum, and party discipline while also undermining the authority of the Committee.”
Kodua Frimpong in his petition requested the National Disciplinary Committee to:
- conduct a full and impartial inquiry into the conduct of Mr. Kwame Baffoe (Abronye DC).
- apply the appropriate disciplinary sanctions in accordance with the Party’s Constitution, as his conduct constitutes “defamation, misconduct, and gross indiscipline.”
