In 2014 Alan got 8% in super delegates election, dropped to 4% in main delegates elections – Boako

Dr Gideon Boako, spokesperson of Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has said all flagbearer aspirants of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) should be guided by what happened in the internal elections of the NPP in 2014.

He stated that in 2014, President Nana Ado Dankwa Akufo-Addo got 81 % in the special delegates elections and increased to 94% in the main delegates elections.

Mr. Alan Kyerematen on the other hand, got 8% in special delegates and decreased to 4% in the main delegates elections.

“Let’s be guided,” he tweeted.

During the super delegates conference on Saturday, August 26, 2023 Vice President Dr Bawumia swept 629 of the votes (68.15%) followed by Kennedy Agyapong and Alan Kyerematen with 132 votes (14.3%) and 95 votes (10.29%) respectively.

Dr Bawumia said after the election that “I am immensely grateful to all, for the emphatic show of confidence in me to lead our party for the 2024 Elections.

This is one step of the process, and the overwhelming support I have received throughout the country, inspires me to continue to even work harder, for a more resounding victory in the next step in November, to embark on this journey of possibilities with you. Thank you, and God bless you all.”
